About Jan

Jan Johnson

I am an author, dream teacher and process oriented bodyworker who has always followed my own path and intuitive heart. This soul-based decision has taken me on a rich and challenging journey of seeking. Every unique step has pushed and lifted me to where I am today. If you are interested, my list of credentials and studies will follow, but my story best explains what brings me to this platform at this time.

My conscious dreaming journey began at age 33, in the midst of a life crisis that caused me to lose my marriage and newly-built home. I closed my dance school and gave everything up to the Universe to untangle and make sense of. As everything I built fell away I prayed for answers to why this was all happening to me. Almost immediately a number of synchronistic events led me to two people, within a week, who invited me to look at my dreams.

I didn’t know anything about “dreamwork.” I believed that I didn’t dream. But, when I asked for one, I opened the floodgates to an incredible surge that quickly filled my first dream journal. With them came a tidal wave of understanding. I found myself on a profoundly spiritual path. I stopped teaching dance and entered massage school which accelerated a personal healing journey that included becoming a holistic bodywork practitioner. Twelve courses of study at the Upledger Institute expanded my work into an energy based healing practice that inevitably came to include dream studies. It has all come together in the creation of my own unique work.

I was blessed when I found and stepped into the extraordinary classes of Robert Moss, renown author and dream teacher. With his profound guidance I have deepened my experiences for over 30 years. Robert’s playful and deeply transformative techniques have formed the way I presently work and teach about dreams. His Lightning Dreamwork Process is the backbone of my teachings. Dreamwork and bodywork seamlessly overlap and the dreams bring a deeper understanding to what is being released or reconfigured in my energy balancing sessions.

My book, On Wings of Dreams was ten years in the making. Along with documenting my story, it includes my most profoundly insightful and personal dreams. In this way it acts like a how-to of sorts, to help you understand exactly how dreamwork works. My blog is an extension of this offering and I have added the opportunity for you to be a part of the conversation by submitting your most important dreams for a quick Lightning Dreamwork blog interpretation. My personal intention is to continue teaching, writing and inspiring as I invite everyone, at every age, to remember and honor their dreams. These are truly dreaming times.
